Why you will not find a gas or electric grill at Goode Company
Jim Goode was raised on food cooked over mesquite. When he was a kid, the hardy little tree covered most of south Texas, where he grew up, and the smoke it produced added a distinct flavor that made just about everything taste better. There was never any doubt that mesquite would define the Goode Company brand, and not just the barbeque. That's why you'll find stacks of mesquite outside every Goode Company restaurant.
Seafood, fajitas, hamburgers, you name it. It's all cooked over the slow-cured mesquite you see out front. In fact, Goode Company Hamburgers and Taqueria was the first restaurant in Houston to cook hamburgers and fajitas over mesquite.
