Goode Company Seafood
One of five children, Jim Goode was born and raised along the Texas Gulf Coast
Years spent fishing, crabbing and playing in the surf turned Jim into a serious seafoodie – a few decades later, he found a way to combine his love for the region's seafood with his fondness for the roadside diners that dot the Texas and Louisiana coastline. In 1986, he located a passenger train car that suited his tastes and the first Goode Company Seafood restaurant in Houston was born. The concept for our first seafood restaurant in Houston was to grill fresh fish, shrimp and oysters over mesquite or fry it in refined oil with a light batter. So while you'll find signature dishes like campechanas, seafood gumbo and whole stuffed flounder on our menu, you won't find anything swimming in heavy sauces. And if any of our fish, shrimp or oysters aren't in season, you certainly won't find it in our kitchen.
